2024 High Point Market Design Trends: A Glimpse Into What’s Next

Each season, High Point Market offers a curated look into the future of interiors—and this year was no exception. As the industry’s premier design event, it brings together craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation, offering a lens into what’s shaping the spaces we live in.

Our visit was an immersive exploration—an opportunity to engage with evolving materials, palettes, and forms that speak not just to style, but to how we want to live. Here's what inspired us most:

A Return to Earth

Rich, grounded tones are taking center stage. From deep chocolate browns to clay and ochre, there’s a noticeable shift away from cool grays toward a palette that feels warm, enveloping, and enduring. These hues offer a sense of calm and connection—a refined response to the need for comfort in our interiors.

Classic Forms, Modern Attitude

We saw a graceful revival of traditional silhouettes—reimagined for today. Whether through architectural millwork or sculptural furnishings, this blending of timeless and contemporary creates spaces that feel both rooted and refreshingly current.

Texture as Storytelling

Materiality continues to deepen. Textures—from plush bouclé and mohair to raw leathers and handwoven textiles—add nuance and tactility to every room. These layered surfaces invite interaction and create interiors that are as emotionally resonant as they are visually compelling.

The Soft Glow of Alabaster

Alabaster emerged as a quiet standout in lighting design. Its organic translucence casts a diffused, inviting glow—bringing softness to structured spaces. Paired with brass or natural woods, these fixtures bring a sculptural quality to illumination.

Nature-Inspired Materials and Finishes

Stone, wood, and forged metal continue to ground interiors in authenticity. A standout trend: the evolution of greige—that subtle balance of gray and beige—is being embraced in textured finishes, walls, and upholstery, offering a versatile, timeless foundation that pairs beautifully with layered design.

Blurring the Indoors and Out

Outdoor furnishings are no longer an afterthought. This year’s collections elevate alfresco living with the same attention to materiality and form as their indoor counterparts. From tactile fabrics to architectural silhouettes, the line between inside and out continues to dissolve—creating spaces that feel whole and connected.

Refined Reflections

Mirrors are taking on sculptural presence. From pill-shaped to arched and asymmetrical, their forms feel intentional—adding quiet drama while enhancing natural light. These pieces act as both functional elements and subtle focal points, reflecting not only space, but style.

This season’s trends reflect more than just aesthetic shifts—they echo a desire for interiors that feel grounded, personal, and layered with meaning. As always, we’re inspired to interpret these ideas through the lens of our clients, tailoring them to reflect each individual vision.
