Perched at the base of Winter Park’s ski slopes, this newly built, ski-in, ski-out home was designed to be both a restful family retreat and a high-performing rental. The owners partnered with Collective Design to furnish and finish every detail across its three levels—requesting a space that felt modern, grounded in natural textures, and made to last.
Our interiors team curated a layered design palette that balances clean lines with warmth and character. In the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, a live-edge wood dining table anchors the space, paired with upholstered chairs in a modern silhouette. Nearby, a hair-on-hide rug and a striking triptych elk photograph from London’s Trowbridge Gallery offer subtle nods to the home’s alpine surroundings.
In the living room, comfort and craftsmanship take center stage. A custom console wraps the back of the sectional, creating thoughtful display space while defining the seating area. A beam-style coffee table and wool rug add textural depth, while fur throws and soft leather and linen upholstery invite guests to settle in after a day on the mountain.
On the middle level, serene guest suites echo the surrounding landscape. In one room, a patterned headboard reminiscent of tree bark sets the tone, while soft neutral textures and layered bedding create a sense of calm. Throughout, our team prioritized luxury that feels effortless and livable.
That didn’t mean every space had to be subdued. The clients gravitated toward bold moments and unexpected detail—allowing us to play with color, scale, and art. A hallway gallery of vintage ski posters brings energy and movement, while colorfully upholstered benches inject vibrancy into transition areas.
On the lower level, the tone shifts to playful and social. Designed for gathering, the rec room includes shuffleboard, pinball, and a pool table. Cement floors and a modular sofa give it an industrial edge, while a custom bar and communal table turn it into an entertainer’s dream.
Outside, each of the home’s decks was intentionally styled to enhance the experience of mountain living. From a cozy lounge area off the primary suite to a hanging pod chair tucked in a quiet corner, every outdoor vignette was designed for connection and relaxation.
This project reflects the heart of our approach: creating spaces that feel personal, polished, and built for real life in beautiful places.
